Dendrobium gratiosissimum Rchb.f. 1865![]() |
Culture Legend--- Temp: I |
This species is widespread throughout Burma and Thailand. An easy to grow species in loose media, such as coconut chips, which maintain good humidity levels while allowing excellent air movement through the medium. It also grows well mounted, so the pendulant canes can arched downward. It is deciduous in the fall, with the flowers arising from the old leaf axils in the
following spring. New growth begins after the spring flowers fade. Originally collected, in Burma, by Rev. C. Parish. One of the Parish specimens was used by H. G. Reichenbach to describe the species. His description appeared in Botanische Zeitung in 1865.
